We started on our Ford program in 2010. It was a different experience but we have since written a lightening program for the Dart block we used and developed a new head package. I believe we are one of the only shops that have a lightening program for a Ford block. My biggest concern while developing this was COULD WE MAKE IT RUN?? This was a very big question and I was hoping we were not spending a lot of time and money on something that wouldn't make the power like our Chevy program does. My concern came from an experience I had a few years back. I had a customer we built a Ford engine for where we used a set of store bought heads that were fully cnc ported and big cubic inches (a lot bigger motor than we were pushing at the time).

This was my first time building a Ford engine and the heads were advertised with super flow numbers. When we got the engine together, we put it on the same dyno as all of our other engines. Disappointment was all that came out of this. The motor was way down on power and I never really understood why. After this, I knew that we had to develop a head and manifold package. Luckily the good folks at Brodix were open minded to allow us to develop a casting and they would make it for us (just like our aluminum OUTLAW Chevy head). Since my first bad Ford experience, it has always stuck in my mind that these things wouldn't run or it was something I have witnessed firsthand before with Chevys where we have tried heads with big flow numbers but the power on the dyno was not reflected.

So after a year of development, we finalized the lightening program and wrapped up our new Ford r-d OUTLAW heads. The shop was full of anticipation. I could tell right away the motor had a really good sound to it. The tone of the motor warming up was deeper than what I was familiar with. So it was time to really see what we had. Keep in mind, we have been building our Chevy motors with our new head program and we have been putting up the biggest numbers I've seen any of my motors do. I knew this Ford had big shoes to fill. After running the motor all day and making changes, I couldn't believe it; to my surprise it made more power than any of my Chevy motors. It had a really smooth torque curve and just blew me away. There really is something special about a Ford. I really never expected to say something like this. At this time we will only offer one combination. We're going to sell these motors complete with most of our upgrades as a standard package. We will have heads, manifolds, and complete top end kits available soon. To all you Ford guys, I can promise, with this new monster we have developed, we will make you proud!!
